Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDDEFGHI FIEJKLK MENOPOTo find with you the earliest | A |
Willow buds before their silver turns to gold | B |
And the first previous buttercup and cyclamen that blossom | C |
Ere the leaflets of the vernal trees unfold | B |
To lie with you in June | D |
Beneath a broad magnolia scented moon | D |
And under stars and meteors of late summer | E |
To see with you | F |
The goldenrod become an ashen ghost | G |
And the rose of autumn crumble | H |
And the leaf put on the splendor of the rose | I |
- | |
And the last leaf fall upon the wintry blue | F |
In a wind from the lofty snows | I |
To sit with you beside the murmuring fire | E |
When a stifled sunset dies | J |
And watch through misty panes | K |
The boughs that toss upon a winter driven sky | L |
And the swift eternal slanting of dark rains | K |
- | |
These are my seasons | M |
This is my calendar | E |
Where love appoints the course of many a sun and star | N |
And wanting you I should not care nor know | O |
If it were the time of falling jasmine petals | P |
Or the time of falling snow | O |
