Beyond The Door Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACDA EFFEGG

Alas the evanescence of a dreamA
That like a rose shall never blossom moreB
A glimpse of unguessed things and then the doorB
Of waking sense clangs to Alas the GleamA
The visioned Secret and the Light supremeA
That one at moments nears when lo the pallC
Of veiling darkness drops and covers allD
The darkness of the daylight's aureate beamA
-
Leaving but an elusive memoryE
A heavenly cadence a supernal wordF
Never but half recalled In dreams are heardF
Who knows what tidings from EternityE
Transcendant strange Alas we may not bringG
Aught past the gateway of AwakeningG
