Before Sunrise Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEDE FGFG HIHII rose in that hushed hour before the dawn | A |
Unveils its wonder old yet ever new | B |
When still the night lies languidly upon | C |
The earth though stars are growing faint and few | B |
- | |
Up the long path I went nor paused to rest | D |
Along the cool dark way till on the hill | E |
I stood where dawn's first breeze my brow caressed | D |
With mingled odorous breath and mountain chill | E |
- | |
To west hung heavily the drowsy night | F |
Weighted with fog low clinging grey and dim | G |
Adown each valley and about each height | F |
Thro' which the sinking stars appeared to swim | G |
- | |
I turned and lo how pale the eastland's face | H |
As if it mourned the starlit night's decline | I |
Ere youthful Day coming with eager pace | H |
With kisses should that cheek incarnadine | I |
