Ave Atque Vale Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCDEEDFFGHGH

Black dreams the pale and sorrowful desireA
Whose eyes have looked on Lethe and have seenB
Deep in the sliding ebon tide sereneB
Their own vain light inverted the vain lyreC
That only tells of love and languishingD
Autumnal roses blind with rain slow foamE
From desert sinking seas with honeycombE
Of aconite and poppy these I bringD
With this my bitter barren love to theeF
And from the grievous springs of memoryF
Far in the great Maremma of my heartG
I proffer thee to drink and on thy mouthH
With the one kiss wherein we meet and partG
Leave fire and dust from quenchless leagues of drouthH
