A Song From Hell Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

This song I got me from the nether pitsA
Where as a witches' cauldron brew that blendsB
Envenomed roots and herbs malingly foulC
With poison essence drawn from charnel thingsD
And carrion found by night the various damnedE
Bubble and seethe with their own agonyF
And cry yo upward firmamental gulfsG
Reddened with blotching flame as though with starsH
A chant that rears like some distillment weirdI
Atwist with urge of pain from writhing lipsJ
-
We are the damned the strain and moilC
That Death has washed from earthly timeK
Drawn down by tides of Hell we boilC
Like toads within a torrid slimeK
-
Our sins were great a deadly chargeL
And yet less heavythan our fateM
We pour through Hell's alembic largeL
Each soul transformed to vital hateM
-
The good that in our hearts remainedN
By sin untainted now is oneO
With vileness cankeringly ingrainedN
By earth and Hell we stand undoneO
-
For that which earth unfinished leftP
The consummation of the pitQ
From out the insuperable cleftP
To where its lords presiding sitQ
-
And watch with contestless sightR
We burn by double test refinedS
To clearest evil purg d quiteR
Of good or mercy from the mindS
-
Our souls are linked to vast despairT
As to some nadir founded rockU
Where never hope descends to mockU
Beyond the dip of terrene airT
-
We heighten to a hate that beatsV
In rage all impotently strongW
Against the worlds that league with wrongW
Whose pain each other's pain completesV
-
Ah would our hate were hands to drawX
The lords of earth and hell beneathY
Ah would our hate were venomed teethY
To rend them through their mail of lawX
-
Ah would that we might cleave with hateM
The roof and base and walls of HellC
Wrench at its pillars till they fellC
With ruin indiscriminateZ
-
Immovably it stands with springsD
Of fire to tear its inward gloomsD
Wherefrom ascending high our fumesD
Are breath of incense to its kingsD
