-
Silver Locks was a little girlB
Lovely and goodC
She strayed out one dayD
And got lost in the woodC
And was lonely and sadE
Till she came where there stoodC
The house which belonged to the BearsF
-
She pulled the latch stringG
And the door opened wideH
She peeped softly firstI
And at last stepped insideH
So tired her little feetJ
Were that she criedH
And so hungry she sobbed to herselfK
-
She did not knowL
Whether to stay or to goL
But there were three chairsF
Standing all in a rowL
And there were three bowlsM
Full of milk white as snowL
And there were three beds by the wallN
-
But the Father Bear's chairO
Was too hard to sit in itP
And the Mother Bear's chairO
Was too hard to sit in itP
But the Baby Bear's chairO
Was so soft in a minuteQ
She had broken it all into piecesR
-
And the Father Bear's milkS
Was too sour to drinkT
And the Mother Bear's milkS
Was too sour to drinkT
But the Baby Bear's milkS
Was so sweet only thinkT
When she tasted she drank it all upU
-
And the Father Bear's bedV
Was as hard as a stoneW
And the Mother Bear's bedV
Was as hard as a stoneW
But the Baby Bear's bedV
Was so soft she lay downX
And before she could wink was asleepY
-
By and by came the scratchZ
Of old Father Bear's clawA2
And the fumbling knockB2
Of old Mother Bear's pawA2
And the latch string flew upU
And the Baby Bear sawA2
That a stranger had surely been thereO
-
Then Father Bear criedH
Who's been sitting in my chairO
And Mother Bear criedH
Who's been sitting in my chairO
And Baby Bear smiledC2
Who's been sitting in my chairO
And broken it all into piecesR
-
Then Father Bear growledD2
Who's been tasting of my milkS
And Mother Bear growledD2
Who's been tasting of my milkS
And Baby Bear wonderedE2
Who's tasted of my milkS
And tasting has drank it all upU
-
And Father Bear roaredF2
Who's been lying on my bedV
And Mother Bear roaredF2
Who's been lying on my bedV
And Baby Bear laughedG2
Who's been lying on my bedV
O here she is fast asleepY
-
The savage old Father Bear criedH
Let us eat herH2
The savage old Mother Bear criedH
Let us eat herH2
But the Baby Bear saidV
Nothing ever was sweeterH2
Let's kiss her and send her homeI2
