Sir Arthur the sinnerA
Ate twelve fish for dinnerA
And you may believe it's just as I sayB
For if you but knew itC
'Twas I saw him do itC
And just as it happened sir this was the wayB
One day this tall fishD
Swallowed this small fishD
He had just eaten a smaller one stillE
Up came this queer oneF
And gobbled that 'ere oneF
Didn't he show the most magical skillE
Then came this otherA
And chewed up his brotherA
Made but one gulp and behold he was throughG
He was a gold fishD
Oh he was a bold fishD
But before he could wink he was eaten up tooG
Up came a flounderA
He was a ten pounderA
Opened his mouth swallowed him and was goneH
Before you could blink sirA
Before he could shrink sirA
This fish came by and the flounder was goneH
Alas for my storyI
'Tis getting quite goryI
So many swallows a summer might makeJ
This one came smilingK
And sweetly beguilingK
Gobbled the last like a piece of hot cakeJ
A cod followed afterA
'Twould move you to laughterA
To see in his turn how this hake came upL
Swallowed that cod sirA
As if he were scrod sirA
And then went by in a kind of a huffM
Last but not leastN
Came this fellow the beastN
Down went the hake like a small pinch of snuffM
Then Cap'en Jim caught himO
And then mamma bought himO
And then Annie cooked him served up in a dishD
And so this small sinnerA
Who had him for dinnerA
'Twas just as I say sir had eaten twelve fishD
