But you fought till the endJ
And you won at the endJ

Painful mark on your bodyC
To claim ownership of youK
Oh what a painful experienceL
With a clear negligenceL

They were braveM
Even to their graveM
They were called slavesN
But they were never enslavedO

My fathers referred to as cargoP
Labourers of cocoaP
My ancestors were brutally killedQ
But they showed bravelyC

Some died insteadR
Some drowned insteadR
My father's nameS
Is my nameS

Then introduced racismT

Poet's note: This is dedicated to my forefathers who suffered during slavery. It was a difficult time for them, yet they did not give up their identity. This poem means a lot to me because in it I saw what I couldn't see, and I felt what I couldn't feel.
