To You, Remembering The Past Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCC DDEEFF GG

WHEN we were parted sweet and darkness cameA
I used to strike a match and hold the flameA
Before your picture and rould breathless markB
The answering glimmer of the tiny sparkB
That brought to life the magic of your eyesC
Their wistful tenderness their glad surpriseC
-
Holding that mimic torch before your shrineD
I used to light your eyes and make them mineD
Watch them like stars set in a lonely skyE
Whisper my heart out yearning for replyE
Summon your lips from far across the seaF
Bidding them live a twilight hour with meF
-
Then when the match was shriveller into gloomG
Lo you were with me in the darkened roomG
