Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHIH JKHK LMNM OBPBCB QBRBCB

All joys I bless but I confessA
There is one greatest thrillB
What the dentist does when he stops the buzzC
And puts away the drillB
-
His engine hums along my gumsD
its excavating droneE
I salivate and gurgling waitF
Vibrating to the boneE
-
Oh will he save this tooth concaveG
Or will he now decideH
To grind away some more decayI
He murmurs Open wideH
-
So I must feel the burning steelJ
The hot and fragile twingeK
And mutely bide till he push asideH
The bracket on its hingeK
-
But will he swerve toward that nerveL
I wonder gagged agapeM
He sees me gulp and spares the pulpN
My God a close escapeM
-
The creosote is in my throatO
I weep against my willB
My nostrils itch sensation whichP
I can't relieve untilB
He stops the buzz and packs the fuzzC
And puts away the drillB
-
I grant the bliss of love's warm kissQ
Or wealth or fame or skillB
These i esteem but yet I deemR
There is one greater thrillB
When he stops the buzz as at last he doesC
And puts away the drillB
