Smells Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABB CCC DDD EEE FFGF

WHY is it that the poet tellsA
So little of the sense of smellB
These are the odors I love wellB
-
The smell of coffee freshly groundC
Or rich plum pudding holly crownedC
Or onions fried and deeply brownedC
-
The fragrance of a fumy pipeD
The smell of apples newly ripeD
And printer's ink on leaden typeD
-
Woods by moonlight in SeptemberE
Breathe most sweet and I rememberE
Many a smoky camp fire emberE
-
Camphor turpentine and teaF
The balsam of a Christmas treeF
These are whiffs of gramaryeG
A ship smells best of all to meF
