Accurs'd Be He That First Invented War Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFAGHIJKLLM

Accurs'd be he that first invented warA
They knew not ah they knew not simple menB
How those were hit by pelting cannon shotC
Stand staggering like a quivering aspen leafD
Fearing the force of Boreas' boisterous blastsE
In what a lamentable case where IF
If nature had not given me wisdom's loreA
For kings are clouts that every man shoots atG
Our crown the pin that thousands seek to cleaveH
Therefore in policy I think it goodI
To hide it close a goodly stratagemJ
And far from any man that is a foolK
So shall not I be known or if I beL
They cannot take away my crown from meL
Here will I hide it in this simple holeM
