Of Old, On Her Terrace At Evening Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEAFGHIIJKLDAAMBA N

Of old on her terrace at eveningA
not here in some long gone kingdomB
oh folded close to her breastC
Our gaze dwelt wide on the blacknessD
was it trees or a shadowy passionE
the pain of an old world longingA
that it sobb'd that it swell'd that it shrankF
the gloom of the forestG
blurr'd soft on the skirt of the night skiesH
that shut in our lonely worldI
Not here in some long gone worldI
Close lock'd in that passionate arm claspJ
no word did we utter we stirr'd notK
the silence of Death or of LoveL
Only round and over usD
that tearless infinite yearningA
and the Night with her spread wings rustlingA
folding us with the starsM
Not here in some long gone kingdomB
of old on her terrace at eveningA
oh folded close to her heartN
