My Heart Was Wandering In The Sands Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EAEA BFBG

MY heart was wandering in the sandsA
a restless thing a scorn apartB
Love set his fire in my handsA
I clasp d the flame unto my heartB
-
Surely I said my heart shall turnC
one fierce delight of pointed flameD
and in that holocaust shall burnC
its old unrest and scorn and shameD
-
surely my heart the heavens at lastE
shall storm with fiery orisonsA
and know enthroned in the vastE
the fervid peace of molten sunsA
-
The flame that feeds upon my heartB
fades or flares by wild winds controll dF
my heart still walks a thing apartB
my heart is restless as of oldG
