Fire In The Heavens Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDDD DADA EE

Fire in the heavens and fire along the hillsA
and fire made solid in the flinty stoneB
thick mass'd or scatter'd pebble fire that fillsA
the breathless hour that lives in fire aloneB
-
This valley long ago the patient bedC
of floods that carv'd its antient amplitudeD
in stillness of the Egyptian crypt outspreadD
endures to drown in noon day's tyrant moodD
-
Behind the veil of burning silence boundD
vast life's innumerous busy littlenessA
is hush'd in vague conjectured blur of soundD
that dulls the brain with slumbrous weight unlessA
-
some dazzling puncture let the stridence throngE
in the cicada's torture point of songE
