Venus' Looking-glass Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDECFE

I marked where lovely Venus and her courtA
With song and dance and merry laugh went byB
Weightless their wingless feet seemed made to flyB
Bound from the ground and in mid air to sportA
Left far behind I heard the dolphins snortA
Tracking their goddess with a wistful eyeB
Around whose head white doves rose wheeling highB
Or low and cooed after their tender sortA
All this I saw in spring Through summer heatC
I saw the lovely Queen of Love no moreD
But when flushed autumn through the woodlands wentE
I spied sweet Venus walk amid the wheatC
Whom seeing every harvester gave o'erF
His toil and laughed and hoped and was contentE
