Vanity Of Vanities Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACBBADEDEDE

Ah woe is me for pleasure that is vainA
Ah woe is me for glory that is pastB
Pleasure that bringeth sorrow at the lastB
Glory that at the last bringeth no gainA
So saith the sinking heart and so againC
It shall say till the mighty angel blastB
Is blown making the sun and moon aghastB
And showering down the stars like sudden rainA
And evermore men shall go fearfullyD
Bending beneath their weight of heavinessE
And ancient men shall lie down wearilyD
And strong men shall rise up in wearinessE
Yea even the young shall answer sighinglyD
Saying one to another How vain it isE
