Sound Sleep Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAAAAA BBCCC AAAAA DEEEEE

Some are laughing some are weepingA
She is sleeping only sleepingA
Round her rest wild flowers are creepingA
There the wind is heaping heapingA
Sweetest sweets of Summer's keepingA
By the cornfields ripe for reapingA
-
There are lilies and there blushesB
The deep rose and there the thrushesB
Sing till latest sunlight flushesC
In the west a fresh wind brushesC
Through the leaves while evening hushesC
-
There by day the lark is singingA
And the grass and weeds are springingA
There by night the bat is wingingA
There forever winds are bringingA
Far off chimes of church bells ringingA
-
Night and morning noon and evenD
Their sound fills her dreams with HeavenE
The long strife at length is strivenE
Till her grave bands shall be rivenE
Such is the good portion givenE
To her soul at rest and shrivenE
