One Of The Dead Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDCDCD

Paler not quite so fair as in her lifeA
She lies upon the bed perfectly stillB
Her little hands clasped with a patient willB
Upon her bosom swelling without strifeA
An honoured virgin a most blameless wifeA
The roses lean upon the window sillB
That she trained once their sweets the hot air fillB
And make the death apartment odour rifeA
Her meek white hands folded upon her breastC
Her gentle eyes closed in the long last sleepD
She lieth down in her unbroken restC
Her kin kneeling around a vigil keepD
Venting their grief in low sobs unrepressedC
Friends she but slumbers wherefore do ye weepD
