May Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCDDEF ABCCC

I cannot tell you how it wasA
But this I know it came to passB
Upon a bright and breezy dayC
When May was young ah pleasant MayC
As yet the poppies were not bornD
Between the blades of tender cornD
The last eggs had not hatched as yetE
Nor any bird foregone its mateF
-
I cannot tell you what it wasA
But this I know it did but passB
It passed away with sunny MayC
With all sweet things it passed awayC
And left me old and cold and grayC
