Life And Death Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBBABAAA CDECECEEE

Life is not sweet One day it will be sweetA
To shut our eyes and dieB
Nor feel the wild flowers blow nor birds dart byB
With flitting butterflyB
Nor grass grow long above our heads and feetA
Nor hear the happy lark that soars sky highB
Nor sigh that spring is fleet and summer fleetA
Nor mark the waxing wheatA
Nor know who sits in our accustomed seatA
-
Life is not good One day it will be goodC
To die then live againD
To sleep meanwhile so not to feel the waneE
Of shrunk leaves dropping in the woodC
Nor hear the foamy lashing of the mainE
Nor mark the blackened bean fields nor where stoodC
Rich ranks of golden grainE
Only dead refuse stubble clothe the plainE
Asleep from risk asleep from painE
