Dead Hope Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGFHI JKJK

Hope new born one pleasant mornA
Died at evenB
Hope dead lives nevermoreC
No not in heavenD
-
If his shroud were but a cloudE
To weep itself awayF
Or were he buried undergroundG
To sprout some dayF
But dead and gone is dead and goneH
Vainly wept uponI
-
Nought we place above his faceJ
To mark the spotK
But it shows a barren placeJ
In our lotK
