Autumn Violets Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDEDCE

Keep love for youth and violets for the springA
Or if these bloom when worn out autumn grievesB
Let them lie hid in double shade of leavesB
Their own and others dropped down witheringA
For violets suit when home birds build and singA
Not when the outbound bird a passage cleavesB
Not with dry stubble of mown harvest sheavesB
But when the green world buds to blossomingA
Keep violets for the spring and love for youthC
Love that should dwell with beauty mirth and hopeD
Or if a later sadder love be bornE
Let this not look for grace beyond its scopeD
But give itself nor plead for answering truthC
A grateful Ruth tho' gleaning scanty cornE
