A Rose Plant In Jericho Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCBA ABCCBA ABCCBA

At morn I plucked a rose and gave it TheeA
A rose of joy and happy love and peaceB
A rose with scarce a thornC
But in the chillness of a second mornC
My rose bush drooped and all its gay increaseB
Was but one thorn that wounded meA
-
I plucked the thorn and offered it to TheeA
And for my thorn Thou gavest love and peaceB
Not joy this mortal mornC
If Thou hast given much treasure for a thornC
Wilt thou not give me for my rose increaseB
Of gladness and all sweets to meA
-
My thorny rose my love and pain to TheeA
I offer and I set my heart in peaceB
And rest upon my thornC
For verily I think to morrow mornC
Shall bring me Paradise my gift's increaseB
Yea give Thy very Self to meA
