A Pause Of Thought Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA CDDC EFFG HIJH KLMK

I looked for that which is not nor can beA
And hope deferred made my heart sick in truthB
But years must pass before a hope of youthB
Is resigned utterlyA
-
I watched and waited with a steadfast willC
And though the object seemed to flee awayD
That I so longed for ever day by dayD
I watched and waited stillC
-
Sometimes I said This thing shall be no moreE
My expectation wearies and shall ceaseF
I will resign it now and be at peaceF
Yet never gave it o'erG
-
Sometimes I said It is an empty nameH
I long for to a name why should I giveI
The peace of all the days I have to liveJ
Yet gave it all the sameH
-
Alas thou foolish one alike unfitK
For healthy joy and salutary painL
Thou knowest the chase useless and againM
Turnest to follow itK
