A Bruised Reed Shall He Not Break Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACDDC EFFEGHHG IJJIKCCK

I will accept thy will to do and beA
Thy hatred and intolerance of sinB
Thy will at least to love that burns withinB
And thirsteth after MeA
So will I render fruitful blessing stillC
The germs and small beginnings in thy heartD
Because thy will cleaves to the better partD
Alas I cannot willC
-
Dost not thou will poor soul Yet I receiveE
The inner unseen longings of the soulF
I guide them turning towards Me I controlF
And charm hearts till they grieveE
If thou desire it yet shall come to passG
Though thou but wish indeed to choose My loveH
For I have power in earth and heaven aboveH
I cannot wish alasG
-
What neither choose nor wish to choose and yetI
I still must strive to win thee and constrainJ
For thee I hung upon the cross in painJ
How then can I forgetI
If thou as yet dost neither love nor hateK
Nor choose nor wish resign thyself be stillC
Till I infuse love hatred longing willC
I do not deprecateK
