Summer Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDD EFGFFEF HIJKLL MJDJNJO

Winter is cold heartedA
Spring is yea and nayB
Autumn is a weather cockC
Blown every wayB
Summer days for meD
When every leaf is on its treeD
-
When Robin's not a beggarE
And Jenny Wren's a brideF
And larks hang singing singing singingG
Over the wheat fields wideF
And anchored lilies rideF
And the pendulum spiderE
Swings from side to sideF
-
And blue black beetles transact businessH
And gnats fly in a hostI
And furry caterpillars hastenJ
That no time be lostK
And moths grow fat and thriveL
And ladybirds arriveL
-
Before green apples blushM
Before green nuts embrownJ
Why one day in the countryD
Is worth a month in townJ
Is worth a day and a yearN
Of the dusty musty lag last fashionJ
That days drone elsewhereO
