Oh the cheerful Budding timeB
When thorn hedges turn to greenC
When new leaves of elm and limeB
Cleave and shed their winter screenC
Tender lambs are born and 'baa '-
North wind finds no snow to bringD
Vigorous Nature laughs 'Ha ha '-
In the miracle of springD
-
Oh the gorgeous Blossom daysE
When broad flag flowers drink and blowF
In and out in summer blazeE
Dragon flies flash to and froF
Ashen branches hang out keysG
Oaks put forth the rosy shootH
Wandering herds wax sleek at easeG
Lovely blossoms end in fruitH
-
Oh the shouting Harvest weeksI
Mother earth grown fat with sheavesJ
Thrifty gleaner finds who seeksI
Russet golden pomp of leavesJ
Crowns the woods to fall at lengthK
Bracing winds are felt to stirL
Ocean gathers up her strengthK
Beasts renew their dwindled furL
-
Oh the starving Winter lapseM
Ice bound hunger pinched and dimN
Dormant roots recall their sapsM
Empty nests show black and grimN
Short lived sunshine gives no heatO
Undue buds are nipped by frostP
Snow sets forth a winding sheetO
And all hope of life seems lostP
