The Argosy MarchA
-
-
If he would come to day to day to dayB
O what a day to day would beC
But now he's away miles and miles awayB
From me across the seaC
-
O little bird flying flying flyingD
To your nest in the warm westE
Tell him as you pass that I am dyingD
As you pass home to your nestE
-
I have a sister I have a brotherF
A faithful hound a tame white doveG
But I had another once I had anotherF
And I miss him my love my loveG
-
In this weary world it is so cold so coldH
While I sit here all aloneI
I would not like to wait and to grow oldH
But just to be dead and goneJ
-
Make me fair when I lie dead on my bedK
Fair where I am lyingD
Perhaps he may come and look upon me deadK
He for whom I am dyingD
-
Dig my grave for two with a stone to show itL
And on the stone write my nameM
If he never comes I shall never know itL
But sleep on all the sameM
