On the wind of January	A
Down flits the snow	B
Travelling from the frozen North	C
As cold as it can blow	B
Poor robin redbreast	D
Look where he comes	E
Let him in to feel your fire	F
And toss him of your crumbs	E

Snowflakes float still	G
Half inclined to turn to rain	H
Nipping dripping chill	G
Then the thaws swell the streams	I
And swollen rivers swell the sea	A
If the winter ever ends	J
How pleasant it will be	A

The catkins drop down	L
Curly caterpillar like	M
Curious green and brown	L
With concourse of nest building birds	N
And leaf buds by the way	O
We begin to think of flowers	P
And life and nuts some day	O

Rich fruit tree blossoms fall	R
On the hedged in orchard green	S
From the southern wall	R
Apple trees and pear trees	T
Shed petals white or pink	U
Plum trees and peach trees	T
While sharp showers sink and sink	U

Beside pure scent of flowers	P
While all things wax and nothing wanes	V
In lengthening daylight hours	P
Across the hyacinth beds	W
The wind lags warm and sweet	D

Thrives the red rose crop	Z
Every day fresh blossoms blow	B

From thunderous lightning clouds that blot	D

Corn fields bow the head	D

It's oh for mothers' sons at sea	A
