A Summer Wish Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBBBBB CBCCBBB DADDEAE FAFFBAB

Live all thy sweet life thro'A
Sweet Rose dew sprentB
Drop down thine evening dewB
To gather it anewB
When day is brightB
I fancy thou wast meantB
Chiefly to give delightB
-
Sing in the silent skyC
Glad soaring birdB
Sing out thy notes on highC
To sunbeam straying byC
Or passing cloudB
Heedless if thou art heardB
Sing thy full song aloudB
-
Oh that it were with meD
As with the flowerA
Blooming on its own treeD
For butterfly and beeD
Its summer mornsE
That I might bloom mine hourA
A rose in spite of thornsE
-
Oh that my work were doneF
As birds' that soarA
Rejoicing in the sunF
That when my time is runF
And daylight tooB
I so might rest once moreA
Cool with refreshing dewB
