But that you were ever hereE

That we shared the same earthF
That you and I have been sentG
From a place we will not rememberC
Until we find ourselves back in itH
That our paths crossed andA
Twined and ran into each otherC

That we come into lifeI
to act out the stories of our destinyJ

to us aloneO
and cannot be translatedK

That our palms go with usP
to the grave butQ

Poet's note: I wrote this poem for a dying friend, who, in her last moments, taught me how to open my eyes to the magnificent beauty of life. This poem is a little token of my gratitude. And I miss her so much.
