| Its golden streets and glittering gates ablaze | B |
| The shadeless sleepless city of white days | B |
| White nights or nights and days that are as one | A |
| We weary when all is said all thought all done | A |
| We strain our eyes beyond this dusk to see | C |
| What from the threshold of eternity | C |
| We shall step into No I think we shun | A |
| The splendour of that everlasting glare | D |
| The clamour of that never ending song | E |
| And if for anything we greatly long | E |
| It is for some remote and quiet stair | D |
| Which winds to silence and a space for sleep | F |
| Too sound for waking and for dreams too deep | F |
