The Silent Folk Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF| Oh praise me not the silent folk | A |
| To me they only seem | B |
| Like leafless bird abandoned oak | A |
| And muffled frozen stream | B |
| - | |
| I want the leaves to talk and tell | C |
| The joy that's in the tree | D |
| And water nymphs to weave a spell | C |
| Of pixie melody | D |
| - | |
| Your silent folk may be sincere | E |
| But still when all is said | F |
| We have to grant they're rather drear | E |
| And maybe too they're dead | F |
