Morning Hymn Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC DEFEGG HIHIJJ

Christ whose glory fills the skiesA
Christ the true the only lightB
Sun of Righteousness ariseA
Triumph o'er the shades of nightB
Day spring from on high be nearC
Day star in my heart appearC
-
Dark and cheerless is the mornD
Unaccompanied by theeE
Joyless is the day's returnF
Till thy mercy's beams I seeE
Till thy inward light impartG
Glad my eyes and warm my heartG
-
Visit then this soul of mineH
Pierce the gloom of sin and griefI
Fill me Radiancy DivineH
Scatter all my unbeliefI
More and more thyself displayJ
Shining to the perfect dayJ
