Ho! Everyone That Thirsts, Draw Nigh Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDED FGHG IJKJ LMNM OPOP QRQS TUVU WKWX

Ho every one that thirsts draw nighA
'Tis God invites the fallen raceB
Mercy and free salvation buyA
Buy wine and milk and gospel graceB
-
Come to the living waters comeC
Sinners obey your Maker's callD
Return ye weary wanderers homeE
And find my grace is free for allD
-
See from the Rock a fountain riseF
For you in healing streams it rollsG
Money ye need not bring nor priceH
Ye labouring burdened sin sick soulsG
-
Nothing ye in exchange shall giveI
Leave all you have and are behindJ
Frankly the gift of God receiveK
Pardon and peace in Jesus findJ
-
Why seek ye that which is not breadL
Nor can your hungry souls sustainM
On ashes husks and air ye feedN
Ye spend your little all in vainM
-
In search of empty joys belowO
Ye toil with unavailing strifeP
Whither ah whither would ye goO
I have the words of endless lifeP
-
Hearken to me with earnest careQ
And freely eat substantial foodR
The sweetness of my mercy shareQ
And taste that I alone am goodS
-
I bid you all my goodness proveT
My promises for all are freeU
Come taste the manna of my loveV
And let your souls delight in meU
-
Your willing ear and heart inclineW
My words believingly receiveK
Quickened your souls by faith divineW
An everlasting life shall liveX
