Rhyme Scheme: A BCBCDEBE FGHIJKLK BMJMNOJP BQRQDEBE

Written during the hostilities in the Far East inA
-
-
Hard by the gates of EdenB
Where God first walked with manC
In the light of the new creationB
Ere the race of Cain beganC
The world wide hosts have gatheredD
And their swords are drawn to slayE
God was with man in EdenB
But where is God todayE
-
From the ice bound steppes of the CossackF
From the home of the fleur de lisG
From the vineyards that crown the RhinelandH
To the shores of the phosphor seaI
The clans have gathered for battleJ
And each for the signal waitsK
While a million swords are flamingL
At Eden's Eastern gatesK
-
By the sign of the yellow dragonB
By the tri color's bars of lightM
By the double throated eagleJ
That screams with the lust of fightM
By the Union Jack of BritanniaN
By Columbia's stars and barsO
They pray to the god of battleJ
For the meed of a hundred warsP
-
Hard by the gates of EdenB
Where the passion flower of strifeQ
First bloomed at its blood red altarR
At the price of a brother's lifeQ
The children of Cain are gatheredD
To plunder and burn and slayE
God was with man in EdenB
But where is God todayE
