Void was the earth and formlessA
And dark was the face of the deepB
Till God's word flashed in lightningC
Beautiful bountiful brightD
And night was the name of the darknessA
And day was the name of the lightD

Doubt it if ever you canE
The world was too good to begin withF
So God made Adam the manE
And for Adam He made the womanG
And He gave them laws to obeyH
And lastly He sent the serpentI
To follow and tempt and betrayH

Eve got a man from the LordJ
And his name was Cain and anotherK
Called Abel the evil starredL
And the brothers quarreled at their worshipM
And Abel the meek was slainN
And Death shook hands with the slayerK
His first and best friend CainN

Of how our people beganE
Of the broken law and the bloodshedO
First fruits of the God sent manE
This is the story of MosesA
The earliest scribe who writP
And all the scribes who are writingC
