Night In May Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABA CCDC EEFE GGHG

The snowy clouds soft sleeping lambkins lieA
Along the dark blue meadows of the skyA
And the bright stars like golden daffodilsB
Are blooming thickly byA
-
And Luna gentle shepherdess the whileC
Keeps near her flock and guards it with her smileC
I almost fancy I can hear her songD
Down to this shadowed stileC
-
Lo Zephyrus fond lover comes to wooE
With airy step he hastes the pastures throughE
And steals a kiss from Luna as she nodsF
Drowsy with fragrant dewE
-
She starts the little lambs aroused from sleepG
Fly hence but Luna near her swain doth keepG
Oh it was ever thus since lover cameH
'Twixt shepherdess and sheepG
