Kenotaphion Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACCADEDEDE| O wanderer whoever thou mayest be | A |
| I beg of thee to pass in silence here | B |
| And leave me with my empty sepulchre | B |
| Beside the ceaseless turmoil of the sea | A |
| Pass me as one whom life's old tragedy | A |
| Hath made distraught who now in dreams doth keep | C |
| His cherished dead unmindful of her sleep | C |
| In ocean's bosom locked eternally | A |
| Scorn not the foolish grave that I have made | D |
| Beside the deep sea of my soul's unrest | E |
| But let me hope that when the storms are stayed | D |
| My phantom ship shall sail from out the west | E |
| Bringing the boon for which I long have prayed | D |
| The broken vigil and the ended quest | E |
