The Road And The End Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDAEFGHD IJKLECM IN

I shall foot itA
Down the roadway in the duskB
Where shapes of hunger wanderC
And the fugitives of pain go byD
I shall foot itA
In the silence of the morningE
See the night slur into dawnF
Hear the slow great winds ariseG
Where tall trees flank the wayH
And shoulder toward the skyD
-
The broken boulders by the roadI
Shall not commemorate my ruinJ
Regret shall be the gravel under footK
I shall watch forL
Slim birds swift of wingE
That go where wind and ranks of thunderC
Drive the wild processionals of rainM
-
The dust of the traveled roadI
Shall touch my hands and faceN
