Killers Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGHI JKLL MNNO PQRS STULF

I am singing to youA
Soft as a man with a dead child speaksB
Hard as a man in handcuffsC
Held where he cannot moveD
-
Under the sunE
Are sixteen million menF
Chosen for shining teethG
Sharp eyes hard legsH
And a running of young warm blood in their wristsI
-
And a red juice runs on the green grassJ
And a red juice soaks the dark soilK
And the sixteen million are killing and killingL
and killingL
-
I never forget them day or nightM
They beat on my head for memory of themN
They pound on my heart and I cry back to themN
To their homes and women dreams and gamesO
-
I wake in the night and smell the trenchesP
And hear the low stir of sleepers in linesQ
Sixteen million sleepers and pickets in the darkR
Some of them long sleepers for alwaysS
-
Some of them tumbling to sleep to morrow for alwaysS
Fixed in the drag of the world's heartbreakT
Eating and drinking toiling on a long job ofU
killingL
Sixteen million menF
