Crimson Changes People Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABC DEFG HIE AJK LMNKOPL PBBC

DID I see a crucifix in your eyesA
and nails and Roman soldiersB
and a dusk GolgothaC
-
Did I see Mary the changed womanD
washing the feet of all menE
clean as new grassF
when the old grass burnsG
-
Did I see moths in your eyes lost mothsH
with a flutter of wings that meantI
we can never come againE
-
Did I see No Man's Land in your eyesA
and men with lost faces lost lovesJ
and you among the stubs cryingK
-
Did I see you in the red death jazz of warL
losing moths among lost facesM
speaking to the stubs who asked youN
to speak of songs and God and dancingK
of bananas northern lights or JesusO
any hummingbird of thought whateverP
flying away from the red death jazz of warL
-
Did I see your hand make a useless gestureP
trying to say with a code of five fingersB
something the tongue only stuttersB
did I see a dusk GolgothaC
