Chicago Poet Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCDEF GHIAJKL MN

I saluted a nobodyA
I saw him in a looking glassB
He smiled so did IC
He crumpled the skin on his forehead frowning so did IC
Everything I did he didD
I said Hello I know youE
And I was a liar to say soF
-
Ah this looking glass manG
Liar fool dreamer play actorH
Soldier dusty drinker of dustI
Ah he will go with meA
Down the dark stairwayJ
When nobody else is lookingK
When everybody else is goneL
-
He locks his elbow in mineM
I lose all but not himN
