IT'S going to come out all right do you knowA
The sun the birds the grass they knowA
They get along and we'll get alongB
-
Some days will be rainy and you will sit waitingC
And the letter you wait for won't comeD
And I will sit watching the sky tear off gray and grayE
And the letter I wait for won't comeD
-
There will be ac ci dentsF
I know ac ci dents are comingC
Smash ups signals wrong washouts trestles rottenG
Red and yellow ac ci dentsF
But somehow and somewhere the end of the runG
The train gets put together againH
And the caboose and the green tail lightsI
Fade down the right of way like a new white hopeJ
-
I never heard a mockingbird in KentuckyK
Spilling its heart in the morningC
-
I never saw the snow on ChimborazoI
It's a high white Mexican hat I hearL
-
I never had supper with Abe LincolnG
Nor a dish of soup with Jim HillM
-
But I've been aroundN
I know some of the boys here who can go a littleO
I know girls good for a burst of speed any timeP
-
I heard Williams and WalkerQ
Before Walker died in the bughouseI
-
I knew a mandolin playerQ
Working in a barber shop in an Indiana townR
And he thought he had a million dollarsI
-
I knew a hotel girl in Des MoinesI
She had eyes I saw her and said to myselfS
The sun rises and the sun sets in her eyesI
I was her steady and her heart went pit a patT
We took away the money for a prize waltz at a Brotherhood danceI
She had eyes she was safe as the bridge over the Mississippi at Burlington I married herQ
-
Last summer we took the cushions going westU
Pike's Peak is a big old stone believe meK
It's fastened down something you can count onV
-
It's going to come out all right do you knowA
The sun the birds the grass they knowA
They get along and we'll get alongB
