Aprons Of Silence Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFG HIJKH LMINOPQPIRS

Many things I might have said todayA
And I kept my mouth shutB
So many times I was askedC
To come and say the same thingsD
Everybody was saying no endE
To the yes yes yes yesF
me too me tooG
-
The aprons of silence covered meH
A wire and hatch held my tongueI
I spit nails into an abyss and listenedJ
I shut off the gable of Jones Johnson SmithK
All whose names take pages in the city directoryH
-
I fixed up a padded cell and lugged it aroundL
I locked myself in and nobody knew itM
Only the keeper and the kept in the hoosegowI
Knew it on the streets in the post officeN
On the cars into the railroad stationO
Where the caller was calling All a boardP
All a board for Blaa blaa Blaa blaaQ
Blaa blaa and all points northwest all a boardP
Here I took along my own hoosegowI
And did business with my own thoughtsR
Do you see It must be the aprons of silenceS
