A Fence Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHH

Now the stone house on the lake front is finished and theA
workmen are beginning the fenceB
The palings are made of iron bars with steel points thatC
can stab the life out of any man who falls on themD
As a fence it is a masterpiece and will shut off the rabbleE
and all vagabonds and hungry men and all wanderingF
children looking for a place to playG
Passing through the bars and over the steel points will goH
nothing except Death and the Rain and To morrowH
