Crisis Counselor Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHAIJKLMNOPQQF QQQRSD

She was a coat of armsA
seasoned for the job toughB
and polished like tortoise shellC
When the women were tougherD
she'd tuck her advice giving headE
back against the executive chairF
let them try to fluff bent feathersG
watch them falling to their feetH
Then her little turtle armsA
would stretch out across the deskI
try to float a formJ
a restraining order maybeK
a list of early warning signsL
but they'd keep on sleeping sleepM
hard through the sessions she'd spendN
blowing on plastic ships paper sailsO
rarely reaching port and they would cryP
like little children watching helplessQ
dazed as she sunk their dreamboatsQ
sat on them no coming up for airF
And perhaps she'd think of the little turtlesQ
we'd kept confined to bathtubs as kidsQ
or of the public safety commercialsQ
telling mother how if she turned her backR
we could fall to sleep slide and drownS
in barely an inch of sitting waterD
