Storm Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABC DEF GHH IJH

Cattle egrets in the dry grass wadedA
like white clerics at the hoovesB
of brood cows heifers and new calvesC
-
Forked lightning CalmD
The darkness in the cattle tank welled upE
and flooded the reflection of the treesF
-
Turkey vultures wheeled and wheeled awayG
No swifts no swallows children gone indoorsH
Rain seethed into the willowtopsH
-
sky flashing while the black bullI
under the water locust glowedJ
with an inward surge of darknessH
