Salesmanship, With Half A Dram Of Tears Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJACFBKFLFM N

Gripping the lectern rocking it searchingA
the faces for the souls for signs of heartfeltB
mindfulness at work I thought as I recitedC
words I wrote in tears instead of tearsD
if I had understood my father's businessE
I could be selling men's clothes I could beF
kneeling complimenting someone at the bayG
of mirrors mumblingly with pinpoints pressedH
between my lips That was the life I heldI
in scorn while young because I thought to liveJ
without distraction using words Yet lookingA
now into the room of strangers' eyes I wantedC
them to feel what I said touch as palpablyF
as when a men in double worsted feltB
the cuff drop to his wrist There was a rushK
in the applause of gratitude and mercyF
they could go A teenager embarrassedL
for himself and me lefthandedlyF
squeezed my fingers and said thanksM
